How to dress like an archaeologist

Amboyna, a wood-and-stone chair, was the subject of a documentary series on Vice in 2013, which was shot by a team from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and included footage of a team excavating an ancient wood structure in Brazil.

The wood chair was found in the ancient village of Amboynas, located in the Rio de Janeiro region, and is believed to have been carved by a hunter or herring fisherman, who made a living by fishing with it.

Amboyas wooden and stone chairs were used for many centuries before being replaced by stone and wooden benches in the late 1800s.
